Thirty years without freedom
In May 1992 Hada founded the Southern Mongolian Democratic Alliance in Hohhot to defend Mongol rights under Chinese law. On 10 December 1995 he was arrested at home; in November 1996 he was sentenced to fifteen years for “separatism” and “espionage”. His wife Xinna was detained for four months; his son Uiles was later jailed for two years.
Released from prison in December 2010, Hada was held for four more years without charge, then placed under house arrest. In January 2025 he was hospitalised with organ failure; since February 2025 his family has not been allowed to see him. In 2025 the party honoured him with the “Spiritual Leader of Southern Mongolia” award.
